Hey everyone! This is my first post in a long, long while so I’m sorry if it’s a little bit rough around the edges, I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things.
I had to take an impromptu hiatus from blogging for the past few months because I was feeling completely overwhelmed by all of the coursework and exams that I had for university. However, I finished university for the summer in early May so I was able to read two books in total!
Ruin and Rising
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Length: 10 hours 57 minutes (Audiobook)
I was generally satisfied with the final book of the Grisha Trilogy. I loved the development that all of the characters went through during the book as this lead to some great and unexpected friendships forming.
The only problems I had with this book were that the pacing was a bit slow at times and I wasn’t happy with the romance and main love interest.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to read Six of Crows.
Author: Susan Dennard
Length: 479 pages (UK paperback)
I loved this book so much! I absolutely adored the magic system, it wasn’t like anything I’ve ever read before. I also really enjoyed the politics of this world.
My only issue with this book was, again, that some parts felt a bit slow, but I think that sometimes for me this can just depend on the mood I’m in when I’m reading.
I felt like there wasn’t too much or too little romance in this book which I really appreciated and I can’t wait to get to Windwitch.
What’s your favourite book that you read in June?
Thanks for reading!
