Mini Reviews #1

There are so many books that I have read which I don’t want to write a full review for as I don’t think I have enough to say about them, so I have decided to start writing mini reviews for these particular books. I hope you enjoy this new thing that I am trying out!

Starfish – Akemi Dawn Bowman

Starfish

Length: 343 pages (UK paperback edition)

Rating: Full StarFull StarFull StarFull StarFull Star

I loved this book so so much! It was extremely well written and Bowman depicted mental health very well. I really liked that the protagonist of this book was mixed race as I am also missed race and it is something that I feel is hardly written about in YA books.

Geekerella – Ashley Poston

Geekerella

Length: 320 pages (hardback edition)

Rating: Full StarFull StarFull StarNo StarNo Star

I enjoyed some parts of this book, but I think that it is very difficult to write a Cinderella retelling and also make it completely original and interesting as it is a retelling that I think has been done a lot. Saying this, I did enjoy the romance and the friendship aspects of this book.

What’s your favourite fairytale to read as a retelling? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading,
